Government officials as a quasi-body of Polish state-owned companies

Background: State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), like other joint-stock companies, are determined by external and internal corporate governance mechanisms. In SOEs additionally operate a mechanism that is absent in private i.e., supervision government officials. The article analyses the impact such has on SOEs. Research purpose: article’s purpose to demonstrate officials’ State- Owned Companies (SOCs) identify its formal informal determinants. Methods: research multidisciplinary, comprising an analysis of legal regulations survey carried out among members SOCs’ management supervisory boards officials Ministry Treasury who supervise those companies. sample encompassed entire population, all Polish SOCs where rights derived from shares exercised Minister companies. Conclusions: quasi-body unique not only supervises companies directly but also influences administrative nature political influence obstacle ensuring business efficiency supposed respond timely adequately specific market situations.
